- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- In a large bowl, combine the warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and let stand for 10 minutes.
- Add the flour and salt to the bowl and mix until a dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about 18 inches long.
- Form each rope into a pretzel shape and place on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake at 375°F for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
