- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce (vegan if desired)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 4 minutes. Add the garlic, bell pepper and mushrooms and sauté for 5 minutes.
- Add the tomato paste, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Serve on buns or over mashed potatoes.
