- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 4 cups vegetable broth
- 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute.
- Add the sesame oil, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes and stir to combine.
- Pour in the vegetable broth, rice vinegar, and brown sugar. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Strain the soup into a bowl. Serve hot with udon noodles.
