Vegan Gravy
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup vegan butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast flakes
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari

Steps
  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the vegan butter over medium heat.
  2. Once melted, add the flour and whisk together until a paste forms.
  3. Cook for 1-2 minutes, whisking continuously, until lightly golden brown.
  4. Gradually add the vegetable broth, whisking continuously until all the broth has been added and no lumps remain.
  5. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, nutritional yeast flakes and soy sauce or tamari.
  6. Bring to a simmer and cook for 8-10 minutes stirring occasionally until thickened.
  7. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  8. Serve warm.
