Vanilla Custard
Ingredients
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg

Steps
  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the milk over low heat.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar and egg yolks.
  3. Once the milk is warm, slowly pour it into the egg mixture while continuously whisking.
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and nutmeg.
  6. Pour into individual dishes and chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
