Taco Pie
Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 2 (9 inch) unbaked pie crusts

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned. Drain off fat.
  2. Stir in taco seasoning and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle 1 cup of cheese over bottom of pie crust. Spoon meat mixture over cheese. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  4. Cover with top crust, and seal edges. Cut away excess dough. Make several small slits in top to allow steam to escape.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
