- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
- 2 (9 inch) unbaked pie crusts
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned. Drain off fat.
- Stir in taco seasoning and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of cheese over bottom of pie crust. Spoon meat mixture over cheese. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
- Cover with top crust, and seal edges. Cut away excess dough. Make several small slits in top to allow steam to escape.
- Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
