- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
- 3/4 cup milk
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease an 8 inch square baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in honey.
- Combine the baking powder, baking soda, flour and cornmeal; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Mix just until blended.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the cake comes out clean.
- Cool in pan before cutting into squares.
