Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 3/4 cup milk

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease an 8 inch square baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in honey.
  3. Combine the baking powder, baking soda, flour and cornmeal; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Mix just until blended.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the cake comes out clean.
  5. Cool in pan before cutting into squares.
