- 1 9-inch pie crust
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a medium bowl, combine the strawberries, cornstarch, sugar and salt. Mix until the berries are coated.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pie crust and spread evenly.
- Bake for 35 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool completely before serving.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream, vanilla extract and remaining sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Spread the cream over the cooled pie and top with additional strawberry slices if desired.
