Strawberry Cream …
Ingredients
  • 1 9-inch pie crust
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the strawberries, cornstarch, sugar and salt. Mix until the berries are coated.
  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared pie crust and spread evenly.
  4. Bake for 35 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Let cool completely before serving.
  6. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream, vanilla extract and remaining sugar until stiff peaks form.
  7. Spread the cream over the cooled pie and top with additional strawberry slices if desired.
