- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1/2 pound elbow macaroni, cooked
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir in the flour, salt and pepper until blended.
- Gradually stir in the milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly.
- Reduce the heat to low. Add the cheese and stir until melted.
- Add the cooked macaroni and stir to coat with the cheese sauce.
