- 2 cups uncooked long-grain white rice
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
- Rinse the rice in a fine-mesh strainer until the water runs clear.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rice, water, and butter.
- Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce heat to low and cover.
- Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
- Serve warm.
