In a large bowl, stir together the flour, salt and sugar. Add the yeast and stir until combined. Add the warm water and melted butter; mix until a soft dough forms.
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes. Place in an oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes or until doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
Turn out the dough onto a lightly floured work surface. Cut into 24 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about 8 inches long. Cut each rope into 1-inch pieces.
Place the pretzel bites on prepared baking sheets. Brush lightly with oil and sprinkle with coarse salt.
Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
