- 1 cup of yellow cornmeal
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of milk
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, mix together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
- Add the milk and vegetable oil and stir until just combined.
- Pour batter into a greased 8-inch cast iron skillet.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly golden brown on top.
