- 1 lb. sweet Italian sausage
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14.5 oz.) can diced tomatoes
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook sausage until browned and cooked through.
- Drain fat from skillet.
- Add olive oil to the skillet and heat over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic to the skillet; cook for 3 minutes or until softened.
- Stir in tomatoes, basil and oregano; season with salt and pepper.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes or until thickened.
