Puri
Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup warm water

Steps
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour and salt. Add the oil and mix until crumbly.
  2. Gradually add the warm water and knead until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Cover with a damp cloth and set aside for 30 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out each ball into a 3-inch circle.
  6. Heat enough vegetable oil in a medium skillet over medium heat until it is hot but not smoking.
  7. Fry each puri in the hot oil for about 1 minute on each side or until golden brown. Remove from heat and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve hot with chutney or other accompaniments of your choice.
