- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup warm water
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour and salt. Add the oil and mix until crumbly.
- Gradually add the warm water and knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover with a damp cloth and set aside for 30 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out each ball into a 3-inch circle.
- Heat enough vegetable oil in a medium skillet over medium heat until it is hot but not smoking.
- Fry each puri in the hot oil for about 1 minute on each side or until golden brown. Remove from heat and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with chutney or other accompaniments of your choice.
