Pretzels
Ingredients
  • 2¼ cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Steps
  1. In a large bowl, dissolve sugar and salt in warm water. Let cool.
  2. Mix in 4 cups of the flour and oil. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  3. Form the dough into a ball and let rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough to ¼ inch thick. Cut into strips and twist into pretzel shapes.
  5. Boil pretzels in salted water for 1 minute, then bake at 425°F for 12-15 minutes.
