- 2¼ cups warm water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 4½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- In a large bowl, dissolve sugar and salt in warm water. Let cool.
- Mix in 4 cups of the flour and oil. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes.
- Form the dough into a ball and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Roll out the dough to ¼ inch thick. Cut into strips and twist into pretzel shapes.
- Boil pretzels in salted water for 1 minute, then bake at 425°F for 12-15 minutes.
