Pound Cake
Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 sticks (1 cup) butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Add vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  6. Slowly add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until just combined (do not overmix).
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
