- 4 cups bread flour
- 2 teaspoons salt

- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 tablespoons poppy seeds
- In a large bowl, combine the bread flour, salt, sugar, and active dry yeast.
- Add the warm water and vegetable oil. Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise for about an hour.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.
- Press your thumb into each ball to make a hole in the center. Stretch out each bagel to make it larger.
- Place each bagel onto a greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with poppy seeds.
- Bake at 375°F for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
