Pita Bread
Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water

Steps
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
  2. Add the olive oil and warm water to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it is soft and elastic.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Divide the dough into 8 balls and roll out on a lightly floured surface.
  6. Bake at 425°F for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
