- 1 cup chickpea flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Water, as needed
- In a bowl, mix together the chickpea flour, baking powder, cumin seeds, ground coriander, chili powder and turmeric powder.
- Add salt to taste.
- Slowly add water and mix until you have a thick batter that can be easily scooped with a spoon.
- Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan over medium heat.
- Scoop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
- Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
