Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  5. Stir in vanilla.
  6. Gradually mix in flour mixture until just blended.
  7. Stir in oats and chocolate chips.
  8. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  9. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on cookie sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
