Ingredients
  • 1 cup Near East® Original Long Grain & Wild Rice Blend
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/3 cup diced celery
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds, toasted
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley

Steps
  1. Heat butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and celery; cook and stir until tender, about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in rice blend; cook and stir until lightly toasted, about 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in 2 cups of water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 25 minutes.
  4. Stir in almonds and parsley; season with salt and pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
