- 1 cup Near East® Original Long Grain & Wild Rice Blend
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/3 cup diced celery
- 1/3 cup slivered almonds, toasted
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
- Heat butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and celery; cook and stir until tender, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in rice blend; cook and stir until lightly toasted, about 2 minutes.
- Stir in 2 cups of water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 25 minutes.
- Stir in almonds and parsley; season with salt and pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
