- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt.
- Stir in the oil, milk and egg.
- Pour the batter into a greased 8-inch square baking dish.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cornbread comes out clean.
