Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  3. Stir in the oil, milk and egg.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased 8-inch square baking dish.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cornbread comes out clean.
