Lasagna Bolognese
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • salt and pepper to taste

Steps
  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until the onion is translucent. Add the ground beef, oregano, and basil; cook until the beef is no longer pink.
  2. Stir in the tomato paste and crushed tomatoes. Simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spread a thin layer of sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange 4-5 lasagna noodles on top of sauce. Cover with 1/3 of remaining sauce and 1/2 of mozzarella cheese.
  4. Repeat layering twice more, ending with a layer of sauce. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 minutes.
