- 4 large green tomatoes
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
- Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat.
- Slice the tomatoes into 1/2-inch thick slices.
- Brush the tomato slices with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Grill the tomato slices for 3 to 4 minutes per side, or until lightly charred.
- In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, garlic, and basil. Set aside.
- Serve grilled tomatoes with basil aioli.
