- 2 whole wheat pita breads
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 slices cheese of your choice
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Spread butter on one side of each pita bread.
- Place the pitas, buttered side down, in the skillet.
- Top each pita with two slices of cheese and sprinkle with onion.
- Cover the skillet and cook until the cheese is melted and the pita is golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Carefully flip the pitas over and cook until golden brown on the other side, about 3 minutes more.
- Serve warm.
