Green Tomato Chut…
Ingredients
  • 5 green tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger root
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 3/4 cup white vinegar
  • 3/4 cup white sugar

Steps
  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the tomatoes, onion, garlic and ginger. Cook for 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
  2. Add the cumin seeds and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the vinegar and sugar. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool before serving.
