Gingerbread Trifle
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the molasses.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together the baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and flour. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the butter mixture. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in preheated oven.
  5. Let cool before serving.
