Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups long grain white rice
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps
  1. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in rice; cook and stir for 1 minute.
  4. Pour in chicken broth; season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.
  6. Remove from heat; stir in Parmesan cheese. Cover and let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
