- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch pie plate.
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add cocoa powder, baking powder, salt and sugar; stir until blended.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a medium bowl, beat eggs and vanilla with a mixer until blended.
- Add cooled chocolate mixture to egg mixture and beat until blended.
- Gradually add flour and beat until dough is thick and glossy.
- Spread dough in prepared pie plate. Bake for 25 minutes or until center is set.
- Let cool completely before cutting into wedges. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
