Fried Green Tomat…
Ingredients
  • 2 large green tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying

Steps
  1. Slice the green tomatoes into 1/4-inch thick slices.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  3. In a separate shallow dish, whisk together the egg and milk.
  4. Dip each tomato slice into the egg mixture and then into the flour mixture to coat.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the coated tomato slices and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 2 minutes per side.
  6. Remove from heat and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
