- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3 cups crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh basil leaves
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic, and cook until tender.
- Stir in the oregano, basil, and pepper.
- Mix in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, parsley, and basil.
- Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Pour into a 9 inch deep dish pie pan.
- Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven.
- Cool before serving.
