Cupcakes
Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 cup sour cream, room temperature

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two 12-cup muffin pans with paper liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Beat in the sour cream.
  6. With the mixer on low speed, add in the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Divide batter evenly among prepared muffin cups. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center of cupcake comes out clean.
  8. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before frosting.
