Crusty Rolls
Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten

Steps
  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and set aside for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the milk, sugar, salt and flour. Mix until combined.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and beaten egg. Knead until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Punch down the dough and form into 12 rolls. Place on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Let rise for 30 minutes. Bake in preheated oven at 375°F for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
