Ingredients
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1½ cups warm water

Steps
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar and yeast.
  2. Add the warm water and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 5 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Shape the dough into a loaf, then place it on a greased baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
