Preheat oven to 400F (200C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut the pressed tofu into cubes or nugget shapes.
In a shallow bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
In another shallow bowl, add the arrowroot or cornstarch.
Dip each piece of tofu into the olive oil mixture and then into the arrowroot or cornstarch until all pieces are coated.
Place the coated tofu onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes. Flip each piece over and bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
