Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a baking dish.
Brush salmon fillets with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Place in the prepared baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
Meanwhile, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic; cook and stir until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in lemon juice and capers; simmer for 5 minutes.
