Creamed Corn
Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cups fresh corn kernels, divided

Steps
  1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir in the flour, and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Whisk in the milk, and cook until thickened.
  4. Stir in 1 cup of the corn kernels, salt and pepper.
  5. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Stir in the remaining 1 cup of corn kernels, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Serve warm.
