Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
In a separate bowl, whisk together cream, vanilla and egg until combined. Pour over dry ingredients and stir until just moistened. Fold in cranberries.
On a lightly floured surface, knead dough gently 8-10 times. Form dough into an 8-inch circle about 1 inch thick. Cut into 8 wedges and place on prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with orange juice.
