- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease 12 muffin cups.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, milk and egg.
- Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just blended.
- Fill each muffin cup about 2/3 full with batter.
- Bake for 15 to 18 minutes in preheated oven or until a toothpick inserted into center of a muffin comes out clean.
