- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup flaked coconut
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8x8 inch pan.
- In a large saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter.
- Remove from heat, and stir in 1 cup sugar, 2 eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
- Beat in 1/2 cup flour, 1/3 cup cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in 3/4 cup coconut.
- Spread batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Brownies will appear soft when done.
- Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
