- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cocoa powder and sugar until blended.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Mix together baking powder, salt, and flour; gradually stir into the cocoa mixture until blended.
- Stir in shredded coconut.
- Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
- Bake 25 minutes in preheated oven or until a toothpick inserted into center of brownies comes out clean.
- Cool before cutting into squares.
