- 1 9-inch pre-baked pastry shell
- 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/3 cup water
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Stir in the water until smooth.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes or until thickened.
- Remove from heat and cool slightly.
- In the pastry shell, arrange the sliced strawberries.
- Pour cooled sauce over the top of the berries.
- Chill for at least 1 hour in refrigerator before serving.
