Clam Chowder with…
Ingredients
  • 3 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 2 (6.5 ounce) cans minced clams, undrained
  • 3 potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups half-and-half cream

Steps
  1. In a large pot over medium heat, cook bacon until crisp. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until tender. Stir in flour until blended. Gradually stir in chicken broth. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Stir in clams with juice, potatoes, thyme, bay leaf and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  3. Stir in half-and-half cream; heat through (do not boil). Remove bay leaf before serving.
