Ingredients
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 8 slices day-old French bread, cut 1 inch thick
  • Butter, for cooking

Steps
  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  2. Soak the bread slices in the egg mixture, turning to coat both sides.
  3. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and add butter to melt.
  4. Add the soaked bread slices and cook until golden brown on both sides.
  5. Serve with your favorite toppings.
