Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs, beaten

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, oil and eggs.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  6. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing from pan and transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
